LDX Contemporary Art Center

LDX Contemporary Art Center was founded in 2006, followed by its official opening in 2008. The space which covers an area of 6000 square meters is located in the famous cultural industry base “Song Zhuang Art District” in Beijing. It has become the landmark of the heart area of Song Zhuang Art District due to its unique aesthetic style.

LDX Contemporary Art Center is a Chinese art organization, which has an accurate judgment on contemporary art and it is on its international developing way. It aims to promote the contemporary art, emphasizing the experimental arts and academic freedom, dedicating to opening up a green channel for young artists and new thoughts of arts, providing an excellent idea exchange place for both established and promising artists, critics and curators at home and abroad, and providing the collectors with the best service.

LDX Contemporary Art Center named from the ancient Chinese book “Zhou Yi”. “ L”，“D” and " X" are the initial letters of three Chinese characters” Long De Xuan”. Confucius said that “Long (Dragon) refers to the modest man, who is credible to his words and scrupulous to his deeds. De means virtue. A man with great virtue could prevent his heart from evil by being honest.

He does good deeds without being ostentatious and he can easily influence a lot of people by his great virtue.” Complying with the Confucius’ concept, LDX Contemporary Art Center promotes Chinese contemporary art through open, flexible and multi-ways of cooperation and artistic practice, creating a more mature and brighter future for it.
